Jeezy Speaks On Building Wealth, Music, and Sports | LAW OF ATHLETE PODCAST

Episode 1. The Law of Athlete Podcast is now live with host Deonte Holden, Founder of Law of Athlete and Tykera Carter, sitting alongside him as the co-host of the podcast. Ready to let you know that this just isn’t another popup podcast, they come out of the gate swinging on the very first episode with guest Jeezy. The Multi-platinum, Grammy Nominated Artist, Entrepreneur, and Philanthropist, “I am the street dream!” man himself --yes, Jeezy. It’s no secret the influence this man has, so that’s why he was the perfect guest for the very first episode to tackle Law #3: Be A Positive Influence.

Now let’s make the connection… Jeezy? Yeah, so again this man does it all. As owner of the Sports99 Agency, he decided to take a chance on Deonte and his football career and sign him to the agency as he continues his athletic and professional goals even off the field in this stage of his life.

After the normal check ins, they get into what it takes to be a well-rounded individual with a positive mindset. You have to use your positive mindset to help you move forward in life. But wait, let’s congratulate Jeezy for his new album release, The Recession 2 in the middle of a pandemic, in the middle of what he says Black people are experiencing, a civil war. What doesn’t he do? Tykera brings up something Jeezy recently said about God having to sit him down. Going into detail, he says that when his body started to let him down, he had to take a step back and evaluate the things he was putting his energy into and make the right God-led decisions in order to fulfil his obligations to his career. Understanding his vocal gift, he notes that his biggest lesson is that you must also grow through your failure, be thankful for his gift and be the leader that he was called to be.

Switching gears, they get into the topic of investing in yourself. It begins with understanding that you need to start with yourself and put yourself in a position to where you can build. By building, you start to stack, build that generational wealth and now you’re in a position to help others and those around you. Investing in yourself + mindset + grind = success. Basically, you have to take what you know and make it work for you to elevate you in life. Build. That’s the goal.

Knowing Jeezy’s platform and his available resources, he knew it was time to begin to give back. Calling himself the modern day “Robin Hood” he makes sure that within everything else he has going on that he is always in a position to bless others, not only making it about philanthropy, but making it personal. Deonte wraps up the show by asking Jeezy what he wants his last impression and what he wants his legacy to be. He says he wants his actions to match with what he spoke about, that his honor is shown, and that his legacy was to be known as a stand up guy. When it’s all said and done, he wants people to know he stood for something. Living up to Law #3: Be A Positive Influence.
