140 Students equipped for school after our back-to-school drive

Fifteen million students lack the financial resources to purchase the proper school supplies to prepare for the new school year. School supplies extend far beyond having a cool backpack or fresh back-to-school sneakers. Teachers often share how their limited stipends prevent them from being able to help all their students obtain the necessary supplies, and parents shouldn’t feel the pressure of having to choose between the essential pencils and notebooks versus food on the table.

We here at Law of Athlete wanted to make a difference and help properly equip students with the necessary supplies to start their new school year. Thanks to Soufside Market in Southeast D.C., Law of Athlete was able to set up a pop-up shop filled with backpacks and supplies for local students, games and entertainment, apparel, and even gave out free haircuts and hairdos to little boys and girls excitedly awaiting their new school year.

OUR SPONSORS

This drive couldn’t have happened without our amazing sponsors, Target, Refill Technology, Chubb Foundation, ABC Sports Foundation, Gaveen, Prime Performance & Development, Mind Your Business, Body Engineering Fitness, BetterMe Foundation, Huddle, DeShawn Middleton, and Shawn Boone. Thanks to the help of everyone coming together for these children, Law of Athlete was able to give out over 140 book bags with free school supplies and other sponsored gifts. The kids even got to participate in a contest to win an LOA football or basketball.

Keyonte Frager, our President of Sports Marketing at Law of Athlete Sports, said, “First Back to School Drive was a success. The best part about this was seeing the whole community get together and see the smile on all of our youth and family’s faces.”

A success it was indeed. Our kids are our future, so Law of Athlete is proud to give back and help prepare our next generation for success.
