FAQs

1. What is Athletes Only?

Athletes (Only) is a curated experience designed exclusively for current and former athletes who have competed at the collegiate, professional, or sanctioned individual-sport level. Each event brings them together across multiple sports in premium spaces that blend community, connection, and culture.

Our purpose is to create environments where athletes feel seen, understood, and connected. Many evolve beyond the game, yet lose the sense of brotherhood, sisterhood, and belonging that sports once provided. Athletes (Only) reignites that connection. The focus isn’t performance; it’s identity, community, and shared experience.

2. Where is the event located?

Athletes Only hosts experiences in various locations. Exact venue locations are not publicly listed to protect the integrity, exclusivity, and safety of the event. Approved attendees receive the location and other event details via email.

3. When is the event?

Event dates vary by city. Approved guests receive full details — date, time, and location — directly via email.

4. How old do I have to be to attend?

All attendees must be 21 years of age or older. A valid date of birth is required during RSVP.

5. Is there a cost to attend?

Entry to standard Athletes Only events is complimentary, unless otherwise noted. Some future experiences may be paid events. Guests may also choose to make an optional contribution to support future programming.

6. Who qualifies as an athlete for this event?

Eligible attendees must have competed in an organized, performance-based athletic system governed by a credible institution. This includes:

Collegiate Athletes

  • NCAA Division I, II, III

  • NAIA

  • NJCAA / JUCO

  • HBCU programs

Professional Athletes

  • NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, MLS, NWSL

  • CFL and other international leagues

  • Overseas professional clubs

  • Olympic, Paralympic, and National Teams

Semi-Professional / Developmental Leagues

  • G League

  • USFL / XFL

  • MiLB

  • W League, etc.

Sanctioned Individual Sports

  • USATF, USA Boxing, USA Wrestling

  • Ironman / USAT

  • CrossFit Games

  • NPC/IFBB physique sports

  • Other federation-governed disciplines

If your sport is professionally structured, sanctioned, or institutionally recognized — you likely qualify.

7. I played multiple sports. Which one should I list?

List the primary sport or discipline you most identify with today, even if you competed in more than one.

8. Do I need to be currently competing?

No. Both current and former athletes are welcome. Eligibility is based on your athletic background, not your present career status.

9. Why do I have to verify my athlete status?

Verification ensures the event remains authentic and exclusive to genuine athletes — not fans, industry staff, or individuals who did not compete at the required level.

10. What counts as a verification link?

A valid link must clearly show your name, sport, and organization on a credible platform, such as:

  • Official collegiate roster pages (NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, HBCU)

  • Professional or semi-pro team websites

  • Olympic / National team profiles

  • Federation rosters and rankings (USATF, USA Boxing, Ironman, IFBB, etc.)

  • Recognized sports databases (World Athletics, TFRRS, Eurobasket, etc.)

  • Verified media coverage (ESPN, MaxPreps, MileSplit, etc.)

11. If I don’t have a link, what can I upload instead?

You may upload a clear file that confirms your athlete status. Examples include:

  • Official competition credentials, ID badges, or federation licenses

  • Participation certificates, signed contracts, media guides, or event programs

  • Award plaques or trophies (photo or scan)

  • Event results, heat sheets, or score sheets with your name included

Your name, sport, and organization must be clearly visible.

12. Will my verification documents be kept private?

Yes. All verification materials are reviewed only by the internal Law of Athlete verification team.

13. Does submitting the RSVP form guarantee entry?

No. Entry is confirmed only once your athlete status has been verified and approved. You will receive a confirmation email if accepted.

14. Why are you asking for a highlight video?

Highlight videos are optional. They help us spotlight athletes in recap videos, digital storytelling, and Athletes Only content.

15. What formats can I submit?

You may submit:

  • A direct video link (YouTube, Vimeo, HUDL, Google Drive)

  • An uploaded file (MP4 preferred; MOV, AVI, WMV accepted)

Files must be playable and clearly visible.

16. What happens after I submit my RSVP?

Your submission enters our secure athlete verification queue.

Once reviewed, you will receive an approval or denial email.

Approved attendees receive exact event location and access instructions.

17. How long does approval take?

Approval times vary based on:

  • Upcoming event dates

  • Submission volume

  • Verification complexity

You will be notified as soon as your status is determined.

18. Can I update my submission after I send it?

Yes. Email updates to: contact@lawofathlete.com or athletesonly@lawofathlete.com. Include your full name and the information that needs updating.

19. Can I bring a guest?

No. Each individual must RSVP and be approved independently.

20. Is transportation or lodging provided?

No. Attendees are responsible for their own travel and lodging.

21. What is the dress code?

Elevated attire is required.

Athletes Only is an upscale social environment. We ask all attendees to show up with intention and style.

Think:

  • Elevated casual or business casual

  • Well-fitted clothing

  • Quality sneakers, boots, or dress footwear

No-Go Items:

  • Sweatpants or joggers

  • Flip-flops or slides

  • Gym shorts

  • Cleats or sport-specific shoes

  • Tank tops / undershirts

  • Pajamas

  • Overly casual athletic wear

22. Are donations required?

No. Admission is complimentary, but optional contributions are welcome.

23. Where do donations go?

All contributions directly support:

  • Future Athletes Only events

  • Media and storytelling projects

  • Athlete development initiatives produced by Law of Athlete

24. Why is the exact venue not public?

To ensure exclusivity, protect athlete privacy, and prevent unapproved crowds or drop-ins.

25. Who will have access to my information?

All information submitted is securely stored and reviewed by the Law of Athlete team for verification and event access.

26. I’m not sure if my sport qualifies. What should I do?

Submit your form with as much detail as possible. If your sport is governed by a recognized institution or federation, you likely qualify.

27. Can I attend if I work in sports but never played?

No. Athletes Only is strictly for those who competed at the required competitive level. However, industry professionals who previously competed are eligible once verified.

28. What if I got injured and never finished my college or pro career?

You still qualify, as long as you were on an official collegiate, professional, or federation-governed roster and can provide verifiable proof.

29. What if I only played in high school?

We respect all athletic journeys. However, Athletes Only requires competition at:

  • The collegiate level

  • The professional level

  • Or in sanctioned federation-governed individual sports

High school–only participation does not meet eligibility requirements.

30. What if I'm a former athlete now in a different career?

You are absolutely welcome. Eligibility is based on your athletic history, not your current industry.

31. Do I need to bring anything to the event?

Yes — bring a valid ID. If additional proof is needed, our team will contact you beforehand.
